About Resonance Columbus

LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy located in Columbus Ohio

At Resonance Columbus, therapy begins with connection. We believe healing happens when you’re met with understanding — when who you are and how you live in the world are affirmed.

Our practice was built by and for the LGBTQ+ community, offering grounded, relationship-centered therapy for individuals, families, and parents across Ohio.

We help you navigate the moments that shape identity, belonging, and connection so you can move forward feeling resourced, supported, and seen.

Why We Built Resonance

We started Resonance Columbus because we saw a gap: too many LGBTQ+ individuals and families in Ohio were facing months-long waitlists for affirming care — or having to choose between accessibility and expertise.

As licensed social workers deeply connected to the LGBTQ+ community, we wanted to create something different: a practice where queer and trans people — and those who love them — could find skilled, insurance-accessible therapy without the wait.

The name Resonance comes from Jonah and Gina’s background in music. It reflects what we want therapy to feel like: alignment, authenticity, and connection. When something resonates, it feels true. That’s what we offer.

Our Philosophy

We founded Resonance Columbus as a practice where LGBTQ+ identity and relationships aren’t a specialty — they’re the foundation. Our philosophy is simple: therapy should reflect your reality.

We center three guiding ideas:

Affirmation matters. You deserve care that sees all of who you are. Relationships shape us.

Healing happens through connection — to self, to others, and to community. Grounded care creates growth.

Therapy should feel like resonance: clear, steady, and supportive.

From day one, our goal has been to create a space that feels both clinically skilled and unmistakably human — a place where people from all walks of life can find steady, affirming support.

Our Approach

Therapy at Resonance is collaborative, flexible, and real. We don’t use one-size-fits-all models or jargon. Instead, we meet you where you are — with curiosity, warmth, and practical care that adapts as your needs evolve.

Each session centers on what’s most present for you that day. Some weeks that means exploring identity or family tension; other times it’s making space for rest, regulation, or rediscovery.

Our clients consistently describe leaving sessions feeling more grounded and resourced for whatever’s next.

We offer both in-person therapy in Columbus, Ohio and virtual sessions statewide, making affirming care accessible and convenient.
