Jonah Minot, LISW-S — LGBTQ+ & Veteran Therapist in Columbus, Ohio

“Therapy should leave you feeling capable, centered, and understood — even if you started out skeptical.”

Jonah (he/him) is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW-S) and co-founder of Resonance Columbus, specializing in LGBTQ+ identity, trauma recovery, and Veteran care.

He works with individuals, families, and couples navigating transition, belonging, and life changes that require courage and reflection.

Jonah believes therapy isn’t about fixing what’s broken — it’s about helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that already know how to heal.

Providing Gender-Affirming Assessment Letters

For transgender and nonbinary clients seeking hormone replacement therapy (HRT) or gender-affirming surgeries, Jonah provides collaborative, affirming assessment letters aligned with WPATH standards of care.

His approach is respectful, thorough, and rooted in trust — centering your goals and autonomy throughout the process.

Background & Training

Jonah came to clinical social work through lived experience and a commitment to serving those often underserved by traditional mental health systems.

Before founding Resonance Columbus, he worked in community mental health and veteran-focused programs, where he developed deep expertise in trauma recovery, identity-affirming therapy, and relational care.

His background in music informs how he thinks about therapy — as a practice of listening, resonance, and alignment.

Jonah earned his Master of Social Work (MSW) from The Ohio State University and holds licensure as a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW-S) in Ohio.

He has advanced training in Motivational Interviewing (MI), Trauma-informed therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and LGBTQ+ clinical care.

Outside of sessions, Jonah enjoys playing percussion, cooking, and supporting Veteran community programs in Columbus.
