Gina Minot, LISW-S — Perinatal & LGBTQ+ Therapist in Columbus, Ohio

“You don’t have to go through this alone.”

“After my first child was born, I was struggling. Having a baby was a huge adjustment. Although I had lots of social support and a wonderful partner in the trenches of new parenthood with me. I wasn’t prepared for the learning curve of parenthood. I have always been a high achiever and parenting frequently made me feel inadequate. I didn’t feel like myself. I struggled with negative thinking and was frequently tearful. I experienced rage and didn’t recognize myself in my actions. I felt alone. I wish I would have gotten the help I needed sooner. Postpartum mood disorders affect 1 in 5 birthing parents and 1 in 10 non-birthing parents. But only 25% of those affected receive treatment. If you resonate with my story, please seek support. You are not alone.”

Gina (she/her) is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW-S) and co-founder of Resonance Columbus, specializing in perinatal mental health, and LGBTQ+ identity work, and supporting family members of LGBTQ+ individuals.

She helps individuals, parents, and families navigate the layered transitions of life — transitions that often feel isolating but don’t have to be.

Her practice is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and belonging. Her goal is for every client to leave feeling resourced, grounded, and supported.

Background & Training

Gina’s path to therapy was shaped by a deep curiosity about family systems, identity, and how people navigate belonging across difference.

Before co-founding Resonance Columbus, she worked in crisis intervention, substance use and mental health treatment and hospital social work, where she saw firsthand the need for affirming, accessible support during life’s most transformative moments.

Gina earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from The Ohio State University and is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW-S) in Ohio.

She has extensive experience in LGBTQ+ affirming care, including supporting family members of LGBTQ+ individuals.

Outside of sessions, Gina enjoys Crossfit, singing, and community advocacy work — spaces that, like therapy, remind her of connection and care.
