Reflecting on Pride 2026: Celebrating Community, Caring for Ourselves

As Pride Month comes to a close, we've been taking time to reflect on what this month has meant for our community and for us at Resonance Columbus.

One of the highlights of June was participating in Rainbow UA Pride. Despite the summer heat, we had a wonderful time meeting members of our community, sharing conversations, and giving away journals and pens. Journaling is one of the tools we frequently encourage in therapy because it creates space to process emotions, identify patterns, celebrate growth, and practice self-compassion. We hope those journals become a place for reflection, healing, and authentic self-expression.

We also had the opportunity to attend Columbus Pride, where we were reminded of the incredible strength, diversity, and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community. There is something deeply meaningful about being surrounded by people living authentically, celebrating who they are, and supporting one another. The joy, connection, and sense of belonging throughout the weekend reinforced why we do this work. Experiences like Pride continue to affirm our mission: to create a space where people feel seen, valued, and empowered, while working toward a world where everyone can live freely and safely as themselves.

At the same time, Pride Month this year has not been without challenges. Across the country, many LGBTQ+ individuals have watched with concern as headlines continue to report attacks on LGBTQ+ rights and protections. For many, these events bring understandable feelings of stress, uncertainty, grief, or exhaustion. It is important to acknowledge both the joy and the hardship that can exist at the same time.

As Pride Month concludes, we encourage you to continue celebrating who you are while also making space to care for yourself. Whether that means spending time with supportive friends, taking a break from the news, expressing yourself creatively, journaling, or simply resting. Your well-being matters.

And if taking care of yourself includes seeking therapy, know that you don't have to navigate life's challenges alone. At Resonance Columbus, we are honored to support LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, families, and allies as they pursue healing, growth, and authenticity.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, shared a conversation with us this month, or trusted us to be part of your journey.

Happy Pride—and here's to carrying the spirit of Pride with us all year long.
